In an exclusive interview with Fluffy I asked her what her real name was and she replied? |
”Fluffy Starr, with two R’s! It’s a normal name on my planet! Simply because Entity 4051110093848-434 wasn’t catchy enough.” |

|
So tell me, how old are you Fluffy? |
”We don’t have age on my planet. We find it useless and irrelevant.” |
.... |
How would you describe your style of music? |
”I suppose it is electronic rock in a nutshell. Organic rock, with a synthetic feel. Hard, but sometimes soft. Either way, it punches people in the head, but makes them giggle. That’s what I like! I hate boring music that’s predictable, where you can’t tell one band apart from the other. I want people to say “that’s Fluffy Starr” when hearing my music.” |
... |
How would you describe yourself? |
”I like to think I’m a normal girl, but people who know me would laugh their heads off. I’ve always been a bit of an oddball, which I now accept. What can you do? If that’s the way you are, then that’s the way you are! It’s a lucky thing I channelled it into music, or who knows what I might do? I like horror movies and science fiction art. I love fashion and shopping and eating chocolate. I don’t like people who are dishonest. And I don’t like mustard.” |
| ... |
Are you married on your planet? |
” No coz on my planet I am the queen, so all the boys are my husbands. Well, only the good looking ones. The other ones cook my food, and shine my shoes.” |
|
When did you start singing?
|
”My mother claims I’ve always sang, from birth, before I even spoke. But you know how mothers are... I am not sure if I should believe her or not. But I’ve been seriously singing for about 6 or 7 years now. I think I like it, so I will keep singing!”
|
.... |
Do you play any instruments at all?
|
”I play many instruments, but I don’t think I’m particularly good at any of them. I mostly enjoy keyboards and drums.”
But I do have my own backing band and I’ve had many drummers for some reason. I usually end up having to kill them and bury them under my house. But, the current members, Jimbow, Paule and Thomas are alive and well. So far...”
”I really do want to dominate the universe. I’ll start with Earth first. Seriously, I just want to keep making music, and pay my bills. You know, to make music my job. So everybody out there, buy my CD! We artists need to eat too! And I have a big appetite.”
|
.... |
Who is your biggest influence? |
”Dame Shirley Bassey. When I hear her voice, my heart melts. Nobody sings like her.” |
|
|
 |
 |
| Do you have a record deal or a manager? |
“No. Neither. I have had both. It’s too long of a story, but in a nutshell, I’ve decided that it’s best for me right now to just be on my own. If I get an offer I can’t refuse, then maybe that won’t be the case. I’ll just leave it at that.” |
| .... |
| Do you have any gigs lined up? |
”There are some things in the works, but I am not sure which ones we will take. I will certainly be playing more in the New Year. The last couple of months have been all about releasing “Come On!” my first CD. And now that it’s released, I can move onto other things.” |
... |
Say anything you want to me |
”Really? That is very dangerous, because I have a very big mouth. And my mouth gets me in big trouble. No, I’m not so bad... I’ll just say that if music lovers are not satisfied with what is on the radio or what you see on MTV or similar music shows, then know that the power is in your own hands to change it. There are many amazing bands that are independent, but are dependant on you. Make lots of noise, support independent music, and the face of music will change dramatically. Independent artists make some of the coolest, most unique, most honest music in the world. And we work very very hard for our craft, and to be able to present it to you in an untainted honest way. Nobody is telling us what to wear, or how to sound, or what to say. It’s 100% us. So buy your favourite independent artist’s CD’s, and tell your friends about them! Start by grabbing mine! We have an online store, and we ship all over the world.” |
